Introducing Our Licensees from Lyman, South Carolina

Kym and Brandon Ely start Inventory Defense LLC, a home inventory business, to serve their community and pursue their belief in caring for others.

PRESS RELEASE – Kym and Brandon Ely have always searched for ways to help others, giving monetarily and time whenever possible. Kym also brings attention to environmental issues through social media. Caring for others is at the core of the Ely’s life focus, so starting Inventory Defense, LLC is a natural fit as they provide personal property inventory services for the many life events that require this information.

The Elys enjoy sharing their knowledge regarding the importance of knowing what you own so you can recover equitably after a loss. Proper recovery can aid in reaching your goals, visions, and plans set for your family or business. Realizing that most don’t have the time to tackle this often daunting task, Kym and Brandon chose to provide this essential service for homeowners, renters, and business owners. Through their business, they continue with their focus of helping others.

The couple’s combined 18-plus years in corporate settings brings a solid background to deliver a quality product with exceptional customer service. Brandon’s years in the financial services industry as an insurance agent – which included life, investments, and broker’s licenses – provides him with the experience to have worked with people who faced financial losses due to not being able to file a comprehensive insurance claim. When filing claims on behalf of clients, he received first-hand knowledge of the issues that can occur, and realized then that having an inventory can make the difference between getting what your family needs or going without.

Bringing her skill set to their inventory company, Kym’s years in administration and as an office manager compliment her husband’s expertise. Her knowledge of office procedures, customer service, and addressing clients’ needs create a strong in-office structure as well as the people skills required to provide excellent home and business inventory services.

Kym earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Strayer University, and Brandon is currently attending Greenville Technical College, working toward an accounting degree..

With all of this corporate experience, one might wonder why they chose to purchase the Nationwide Inventory¬†Professionals Business Package and License Agreement instead of just starting their business on their own. Brandon explained, “We chose to work with the Hartmans because they have been more than helpful. Cindy always listens and has given great advice even when we were not yet a Licensee. They go over and above and have a willingness to teach and are open for new ideas. We look forward to developing a strong relationship with like minded people while we learn from the leaders in the industry.”

Cindy Hartman, co-founder of Nationwide Inventory Professionals, stated, “Kym and Brandon are powerhouses. They have so much energy and focus. It is amazing! Success always starts with the entrepreneur’s commitment and desire, and they have both; it is a joy to work with and mentor them.”

In addition to home and business contents inventories for disaster preparedness and recovery, Inventory Defense also offers this documentation service for collectibles, collections, estate inventories, and appraisal services. Brandon summed up his and Kym’s philosophy of being business owners by adding, “We guarantee loyalty, privacy, and honesty to every client.”
