South Carolina Licensee Donna Courtney Earns Appraisal Examiner Certification
Certified Inventory Specialist and owner of Courtney Inventory, Donna Courtney recently achieved the Certified Appraisal Examiner designation.
PRESS RELEASE – Nationwide Inventory Professionals is pleased to announce that Licensee Donna Courtney of Courtney Inventory has achieved her Certified Appraisal Examiner (CAE) designation. This certification is designed to serve the appraisal needs of direct clients in addition to filling the examiner role for the appraisal industry. Earning this next level provides Courtney with the knowledge to expand the scope of her inventory business, which is based in South Carolina.
Prior to starting Courtney Inventory in 2015, Courtney was an insurance agent and achieved many industry credentials. She realizes the importance of continuing education and how it benefits her clients. Donna chose to add the CAE designation to enhance her Certified Inventory Specialist (CIS) industry achievement, earned through the National Inventory Certification Association (NICA). The CIS indicates an all-encompassing industry knowledge, while the CAE focuses specifically on supporting the appraisal industry.
The need for Certified Appraisal Examiners is growing due to the recognition of the personal property inventory industry by professional appraisers. A relationship between the two industries is a perfect fit. The knowledge gained through this continued education program enables the home inventory professional to assist appraisers by collecting the required information they need to create a certified report. This certification enables appraisers to locate certified, qualified examiners, and for NICA members to grow their businesses through additional revenue opportunities. These examiner services can be offered as an add-on to their personal property inventory service, or to also serve the appraisers’ needs when items need to have the value certified.
From an insurance professional’s point of view, Courtney said, “It was common for me to begin to write a homeowners policy for a new client, and learn that they had antiques, collectibles, and other items that required an appraisal. Many didn’t know that they would need additional insurance on these items, and had no idea of their value. Now, as a home inventory service professional, I can offer both the inventory as well as the appraisal services. I look at my business as a full-service opportunity, so my clients don’t need to hire one company for the inventory and a second company for the appraisals. I can take care of both while I collect the required information. Being a CAE brings additional value to my clients, both in costs and time.”
Mike Hartman, owner of Nationwide Inventory Professionals, stated, “Donna is the epitome of enthusiasm. The minute we presented her with this additional opportunity, she asked, ‘how soon can I get started?'”. The industry is growing, and helping our Licensees learn of new opportunities to serve related industries is one of our main focuses. Our Licensees’ success is our success, and this niche has great potential. Donna knows the value of industry credentials, and is already prepared to serve clients in the state of South Carolina and southern North Carolina.”
Based in Little River, South Carolina, Courtney Inventory offers residential, business, collections, estate, and appraisal examiner services.
